Summer 2016 – Activities for Young Carers
We have a busy summer ahead with lots of activities and projects for young carers. More information can be found on each activity in the attachments at the bottom of the page. Booking is essential for every event, and we will need an annual consent form for each young carer that would like to attend. Please contact us for more information if you are interested in any of our events.
Project Freefall: Saturday 2nd and 16th July
Young carers age 14 – 19 will be working with Freefall Theatre to explore transitions that young carers experience for a 2 day workshop 10 am – 4 pm. Lunch included.

East Herts Creative Collage for Young Carers: Tuesday 9th August
An opportunity for East Herts young carers aged 16 and under to meet local young carers, and explore ‘All About Me’ through creative collaging. Lunch included!
10.30 am – 1.15 pm: Young carers age 11 and under 12.45 – 3.30 pm: Young carers aged 12 – 16

Sportspace Dacorum
Try a new sport or activity this summer!
Climbing…Caving …Fencing…Orienteering…Badminton…Fitness classes…Netball…And much, much more!
Every Thursday 2 – 4 pm throughout the summer holidays, for young carers living in Dacorum, St Albans District, Watford and Three Rivers. Lunch included.
Firefighter for the day – Friday 12th August
Young carers in Stevenage aged 8 and over can be a Firefighter for a day! Meet the fire crew and try out fire-fighting skills. Lunch included.
Skiing course
A chance to try out a new skill and learn to ski! Course of 6 weeks – every Wednesday throughout the summer holidays for young carers. Participants must be able to attend every session. Please contact us for more information.
Year 6 – 7 transition event – Thursday 18th August
A workshop for young carers and their families looking at the transition from Primary to Secondary school. Young carers will be able to be creative and make a project for their secondary school; parents can learn more about this transition, share concerns and find out about gaining the right support.
This workshop is being held in Stevenage, 10 – 12.30.
